A.1. Camera Permission
Why We Need Camera Access:
- CrickSnaps requires access to your device's camera to enable you to record cricket moments (up to 30 seconds) directly within the app.
- Camera access is used exclusively for recording cricket-related video content that you choose to capture and share with the community.
- We do not access your camera for any other purpose, and we do not record or access your camera without your explicit action to record a video.
- You can deny camera permission, but you will not be able to record videos directly in the app. You may still upload pre-recorded videos from your device gallery.
A.2. Location Permission
Why We Need Location Access:
- CrickSnaps requests location permission only during account signup to help you easily select your city.
- Location access is used one-time only to pre-populate your city selection based on your approximate location, making the signup process more convenient.
- We collect only city-level location data (not precise GPS coordinates). This helps us:
- Connect you with nearby cricket players and local clubs
- Show you cricket events and matches in your area
- Provide location-relevant content and recommendations
- We do not track your real-time location or continuously monitor your whereabouts.
- You can manually enter your city if you deny location permission. This will not affect your ability to use the app.
- You can update your city at any time in your profile settings.
A.3. Notification Permission
Why We Need Notification Permission:
- CrickSnaps requests permission to send you push notifications to keep you engaged and informed.
- We send notifications for:
- Content Engagement: When other users react to, like, or comment on your videos
- Expert Ratings: When cricket experts rate your performance videos
- Social Interactions: When other users follow you, tag you, or send you messages
- Community Updates: New club invitations, event announcements, or cricket match updates
- App Updates: Important feature releases, moderation updates, or policy changes
- Personalized Recommendations: Suggested videos, players to follow, or content you might enjoy

- Device Data: We collect hardware models, operating system versions, unique device identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID), and mobile network information.
- Usage Data: We log information about your activity within the App, including access times, pages viewed, and the media you consume.

- Your Videos Are Public: Once your cricket video is approved by our moderation team, it becomes publicly visible to all CrickSnaps users. This includes:

- Reaction counts ("Fire," "Like") from other users
- Expert ratings and community feedback
- View counts and engagement metrics
- Community Visibility: Other users can view, react to, rate, and share your videos within the app and potentially outside the app through sharing features.
- Control: You can delete your videos at any time from your profile, which will remove them from public view.
B. Service Providers and Third-Party Partners
- Cloud Infrastructure: We use cloud service providers (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Firebase) for video storage, processing, hosting, and content delivery.
- Database Services: We use Firestore and other database services for secure data management, user authentication, and real-time data synchronization.

- You can delete individual videos from your profile at any time, which will remove them from public view.
- Deleted videos will be removed from our servers within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal compliance.
D. Account Deletion
- How to Delete: You can permanently delete your account directly within the App by navigating to More → Close Account. Alternatively, you can request data deletion by emailing us at contact@cricksnaps.com.
- What Gets Deleted: Your profile, all uploaded videos, reaction history, ratings, and personal information will be permanently removed from our active databases.
- What May Be Retained: We may retain certain residual data for legal, tax, regulatory compliance, or fraud prevention purposes for a limited time as required by law.
- Timeline: Account deletion is processed within 30 days of your request.
E. Data Portability

- Active Accounts: Data is retained for as long as your account is active and you continue using the app.
- Video Content: Videos you upload are stored until you delete them or close your account.
- Deleted Content: Deleted videos and account data are removed from active databases within 30 days, though backup copies may persist for up to 90 days.
